In recent months more hotels have now purchased their own chair covers. They may have their own white covers but you want ivory covers, or they may have bought in ivory covers but you want white seat covers.

I have come across this scenario with lots of brides in recent months. It is understandable that the hotels cannot offer the full range to brides that the companies who specialize in chaircover rental can provide.

So brides you don’t just have to go with the chair cover colour that the hotel offers you.

Go with the colour that you really want, if that means getting the professional chair cover company to come in and cover the banquet chairs for your wedding. The exact same applies to the ties around the chairs. The hotel may have no bows to offer or a limited number in different colours.

Rags versus fine quality linens

The cost to hire chair covers for your wedding can vary from provider to provider. You will hear prices quoted as low as 3euro.

A word of caution! Cheapest isn’t always the best. Your wedding is one of the most special days in your life and decisions should not be solely based on price.

Make sure the chair covers are not dicoloured from repetitive laundering, that they are not toren from constant use and, there are no stains from previous weddings. Chair covers should be presented in immaculate condition, crisp, clean, well ironed, and with no creases incurred during transit from your provider to the reception venue. Also make sure the covers actually fit the chairs in your reception venue.

We recently provided sashs to a hotel who now supply their own chaircovers as part of the wedding package. To be truthful they were doing the brides no favours, she would have been better off without any chaircovers. There was chaos in the reception room during setup with the bridal party due to arrive within hours. A member of the hotel staff had put the covers in the dryer too long and they had shrunk and were wrinkled beyond belief. A staff member was frantically trying to iron them but with little success.

Some chair cover companies take a more professional approach to ensuring that the presentation of the chaircovers help create that “wow” factor when guests walk into the reception room. Likewise the sashs are wrinkle free and time taken to tie the elegant bows around the chair covers.

Table decorations included black table runners, black silk petals and themed favours for the ladies and gents.
